Is Soul's Remnant Online? Servers, Channels & Co-op Explained

Overview

Soul's Remnant is a fully online MMO — not a single-player game and not a lobby-based co-op title. Everyone plays together on one shared server, with channels, parties, guilds, an auction house and player shops. There is no offline mode, and there is no PvP at launch.

You do not pick a server when you start: all regions share the same world and the same economy. Channels are copies of the same map that spread the crowds, so the one-server design scales by splitting maps, not by splitting players.

How the multiplayer works

1. Step label — One shared server — all regions and time zones play together; no server selection.
2. Step label — Channels — copies of the same map; switch with the channel-change option (CC) to find free spawns.
3. Step label — Parties — grouping roughly doubles your benefit, including XP, while members grind nearby.
4. Step label — Guilds, auction house, player shops and housing — the old-school MMO economy and endgame structure.
5. Step label — Ironman, hardcore and group Ironman modes — one-life challenges where a death ends the run.

What to watch out for

Changing channels currently removes active buffs, including the 2x EXP coupon — players report it as a bug with a hotfix in progress. Party XP also only counts while teammates are actively grinding, and a level gap of more than 10 between you and a party member starts to reduce the free XP you get from their kills.

Launch numbers are player reports, not official charts: over 1,000 players online on day one, with peak concurrency past 2,000.

Platforms and cross-play

The Steam release covers Windows, Mac and Linux, and the store page lists cross-platform multiplayer — Steam players on all three systems share the same world.
