Soul's Remnant is a free-to-play 2D platformer MMORPG by indie developer Chaomoon, launched in Early Access on Steam on August 13, 2026. It is a cute, colorful pixel-art world in the spirit of MapleStory: you jump, climb and fight through a large side-scrolling map, alone or with the players around you. There are no classes: any character can learn any skill from the melee, range, magic and faith lines, and your build is shaped by six stats, skill levels and the echoes rolled onto your gear.

Everyone plays together on one shared server — channels split crowded maps, parties roughly double your XP, and guilds, an auction house and player shops run the economy. The daily loop is simple: claim the 2x EXP coupon from the Daily Hunt, grind with a party, and spend Dungeon Passes for loot.

The game costs nothing to play — its cash shop is cosmetics and convenience only, per the developer — and the two-person team behind it has shipped an original soundtrack of more than 40 tracks.

• Do the tutorial properly. Press K to learn a skill, O to spend your 5 starting stats, then clear the slime quest for the Faded Innocence weapon.
• Party up. Parties roughly double your XP and drops; idle members don't count toward the bonus.
• Research your monsters. Press B — research level 3 gives +5% EXP and level 4 adds +10% drop chance.
• Time the 2x EXP coupon. It lasts 15 minutes; don't switch channels or the buff can vanish (a known launch bug).
• Keep at least two echo lines on every gear piece. Energetic Souls are common enough to make it cheap.
• Take the free dungeon ticket at level 10. An NPC on the northwest outskirts hands one out for the Slime Garden.
