Is Soul's Remnant Online? Servers, Channels & Co-op Explained
Quick answer: Soul's Remnant is an online MMO on one shared server with channels, parties and guilds — no PvP at launch.
Overview
Soul's Remnant is a fully online MMO — not a single-player game and not a lobby-based co-op title. Everyone plays together on one shared server, with channels, parties, guilds, an auction house and player shops. There is no offline mode, and there is no PvP at launch.
You do not pick a server when you start: all regions and time zones share the same world and the same economy. Channels are copies of the same map that spread the crowds, so the one-server design scales by splitting maps, not by splitting players.
Launch numbers (player reports)
| Metric | Reported |
|---|---|
| Peak concurrent players (day one) | Over 2,000 |
| Characters created in the first 12 hours | 833 (one streamer's count) |
| Steam reviews (first two days) | "Very Positive" |
| Most common launch complaint | Crowded starter zones |
What to watch out for
Changing channels currently removes active buffs, including the 2x EXP coupon — a known launch bug with a hotfix in progress. Party XP also only counts while teammates are actively grinding nearby, and a level gap of more than 10 between party members starts to reduce the free XP you gain from their kills.
Cross-platform and PvP
The Steam release covers Windows, Mac and Linux, and the store page lists cross-platform multiplayer — players on all three systems share the same world. There is no PvP at launch, and none is on the roadmap; the developer says that if PvP ever appears it would be a for-fun mini-game, not a core mode.
Note: the launch numbers above are player reports, not official charts.
